Debi Taylor is a Paramedic Sergeant, Speaker, and Autism Training Consultant. As a single mom of 2 children on the autism spectrum, she changed careers in 2006, focusing on special needs and emergency responders. Years of experience in EMS, fire services and disaster response revealed that many first responders are struggling with identifying and understanding autism. Combined with her experience and desire to help, she took to the stage with the goal of reaching as many emergency responders as possible. Today, her talks show responders how to identify autism on scene, improve communication, and diffuse potential crisis situations to keep everyone safe.
Debi is a highly sought after speaker, educator and consultant. Her workshop, How to Create Safer Interactions by Recognizing the Signs and Behaviors of Autism, is an industry favorite and has changed the way emergency responders interact with the autism community.
Debi has helped law enforcement, fire departments, EMS agencies, and disaster responders identify autism, de-escalate situations, and save more lives.
If you are looking for someone to transform your department or agency, foster positive outcomes and help improve community relations, Debi Taylor is the answer for your next training event.
